Teachers prepare for school year with their own pep rally

OCEAN CITY, Md. – While students were attending their first day of classes in Delaware, teachers and employees in Worcester County were getting ready for their kids to return next week.

We Are Worcester was started as a way to get the employees of Worcester County Public Schools ready for the start of the school year.

Guests included national speaker Patrick Briggs and Superintendent Lou Taylor.

And to really get the party rocking a lip sync battle took place between three county schools. We’re told this event can help educators make connections that can make a difference for students.

“It helps us all collaborate, create those networks. Maybe someone in another school can help me out or another teacher that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. And it just creates a really big community,” said Snow Hill Elementary teacher Gina Russell.

Students return to the classroom in Maryland next Tuesday, September 3.
