Sussex Tech hires consultant to learn more about student applicants
GEORGETOWN, Md. – The Sussex Technical School District is taking steps to improve how students are selected to attend Sussex Tech High School.
The School District is partnering with the University of Delaware for a study that will collect data on their applicants while helping them improve their admissions process and marketing.
Over 800 students applied to the school, so educators want to find out if potential students are looking to find a career in one of the technical areas like computer networking and cosmetology.
The study will review historical data, conduct surveys of past applicants and host community conversations.
Superintendent Stephen Guthrie says their ultimate goal is to renew their focus on career-technical education at the school.
“We want to better tailor our programs, the technical opportunities we have here to meet the needs of the school district and the school community,” said Guthrie.
The research and report are expected to be completed by early 2020.
