Six candidates running for two Rehoboth Beach commissioner spots

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Rehoboth Beach residents will be electing two new city commissioners on Saturday.

Mayor Paul Kuhns tells 47 ABC that things are a little unusual this year because the two incumbents didn’t want to run for reelection. So voters will be choosing between six new candidates. The candidates are Mark J. Betchkal, Edward Chrzanowski, Charles Garlow, Susan Gay, Gary Glass and Suzanne Goode.

There are seven total commissioner spots, including the mayor, and they are responsible for helping to craft legislation. Each commissioner serves a 3 year term. The Mayor tells 47 ABC there are about 1,500 registered voters and he expects about a 70 to 80 percent voter turnout. The municipal election will be held from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
