Serious crash in Millsboro under investigation

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash that happened in Millsboro Thursday afternoon.

At around 12:45 p.m., a 2019 Subaru Ascent was traveling southbound on Indian Mission Road just north of John J. Williams Highway when for unknown reasons it crossed over the center lane into the northbound travel lane, in front of a 2000 Ford Explorer. The Subaru then hit the Explorer, and an Audi Q5 that was behind the Explorer subsequently hit the Explorer.

The driver of the Subaru, a 66-year-old male from Millsboro was taken to Beebe Medical Center for treatment of minor non-life threatening injuries. He was later released.

The driver of the Explorer, a 79-year-old Rehoboth Beach man was not properly restrained and was taken to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Audi, a 58-year-old female from Millsboro, declined medical treatment at the scene.

Police say the roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
