Seaford teen arrested on drug charges

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police arrested a teen late Sunday night after he was found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop.

An officer stopped the vehicle shortly before 11 p.m. after observing 18-year-old Toja Ricketts driving with a suspended drivers license. During the course of the traffic stop, the office detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle and Ricketts’ person resulted in the recovery of 23 bags of heroin, 1.2 grams of crack cocaine, a B.B. gun, and cash that was believed to be proceeds from drug dealing.

Ricketts was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on his own recognizance.
