Salisbury PD hosts 2nd annual Pursuit in the Park 5-k ahead of National Night Out

SALISBURY, Md. – In less than 24 hours police departments across Delmarva will be preparing for yet another National Night Out. But today the Salisbury Police Department kicked things off a little early. On Monday 150 people laced up their running shoes for the 2nd annual Foot Pursuit in the Park 5K. Officials say  the event was one of just many initiatives put on by the Salisbury Police Department to bring the community together before the big day. Salisbury police also raffled off a few bicycles for kids in the area. All while spreading the word to residents to come out and support this national cause.

“It keeps on going, it’s just fun and it’s an easy thing to do and it’s an easy thing to get behind it’s police and community partnerships,” said Cpl. Mike Loring with the Salisbury Police Department.

“I love it. The police department does so much and they deserve as much respect and support as we can give them,” said Jenna Robinson.

Officials add that national night out in Salisbury will begin at 5 o’clock at the city park.
