Recycling increasing in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – City officials are celebrating a big increase in recycling in Salisbury.
Officials say from fiscal year 2018 to fiscal year 2019, the city had a 16.5% increase in recycling.
The increase was part of the city’s Recycle Right campaign, which Mayor Jake Day says helps residents recycle right from their own curb.
The program aims to make recycling easy and understandable, while providing tips and information for residents in the city.
Mayor Day says that even with more jobs and residents coming to the city, the recycling increase is impressive.
“Over one hundred tons of cardboard recycling was achieved this year, which is a massive accomplishment in the first year of our program,” Mayor Day said.
