Maryland, Virginia officials submit Chesapeake Bay clean up-plan

BALTIMORE, Md. – On Friday, both Maryland and Virginia officials have released their comprehensive plan to help continue the progress of restoring the Chesapeake Bay. The plan, known as the Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan, was submitted to help achieve bay restoration goals by 2025. Officials say the plan will guide local, state, and federal strategies to balance responsibilities among wastewater treatment plants, urban stormwater runoff, septic systems–and farms . Environmental officials add that restoring the bay remains a top priority, and that this comprehensive plan will help keep them on track to meet their restoration goals.
