Maryland beach: Strong winds injures one man in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – One man was sent to the hospital after strong winds caused a lifeguard stand to fall on him, according to the Ocean City Beach Patrol.

The incident reportedly happened near 100th Street around 1 PM.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries.

According to the Ocean City Beach Patrol, beachgoers were told to evacuate on Sunday due to a strong thunderstorm.

Strong winds reportedly sent umbrellas, beach chairs and other debris flying.
