Local immigration attorneys help families at the border

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Local immigration attorneys are taking action to help families at border detention facilities.

Immigration attorneys like Ted Murphy in Georgetown says that many families are in need of legal help.

So, he has taken trips to assist.

Murphy says immigration attorneys will often fly over to the border to volunteer while helping these families.

He says although it is dangerous to cross the border many immigrants are desperately seeking asylum.

Murphy adds that he does not see overcrowding at some of the detention facilities, but he says that there is a big need for help.

“Many of my fellow immigration attorneys have made trips to the border for a couple of weeks at a time and volunteering in facilities where there is a significant number of number of people detained,” said Murphy.

“They’re doing good work,” said Murphy.

Murphy says that he will continue to visit these migrant families at detention facilities, and he hopes more will be done to help them in the future.
