Harrington Police arrest WV man for attempting to cash bad check
HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police have arrested a West Virginia man after he reportedly tried to cash a fraudulent check.
We’re told the incident happened on Thursday at the WSFS Bank on Commerce Street. On arrival, police learned that the suspects fled in a vehicle eastbound onto Clark Street, and were quickly able to locate and stop the vehicle. Investigation revealed that 39-year-old Jonathan Ferrell of Charmco, WV, had tried to cash a bad check, which the bank refused to cash.
Ferrell was arrested and charged with forgery second degree and attempted theft over $1,500. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
The other suspects in the vehicle were questioned but were not charged.
