Harrington Heritage Day returns

HARRINGTON, Del. – Hundreds of people gathered in Kent County on Saturday to celebrate the decades-old Harrington Heritage Day.

The 40th Annual Harrington Heritage Day celebration took place near the police department on Saturday.

The event is a chance for the community to remember the city’s history and its founders.

People enjoyed things like a car show, a parade, as well as all sorts of foods and crafts.

Several museums of the Harrington Historical Society also participated in the annual event.

Some locals say celebrating Heritage Day has become a family tradition.

“This is where I grew up at and every year we always come out to show support to the guys that come out with the cars and the tractors and stuff,” said Kyle Scott, a Harrington resident.

“I was really amazed when I was a young kid, so I bring my son out to show him the same thing I grew up in,” said Scott.

Organizers say this year’s event is larger than in the past. The city is also celebrating 150 years.
