DSP search for wanted man in connection with Dover shooting
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting that happened at a Royal Farms on Saturday.
According to Delaware State Police, shortly after 1 PM, Anthony P. Taylor was seated in the front passenger seat of a parked car in the lot of a Royal Farms in Dover when he was approached by a 33-year-old man.
28-year-old Taylor had a history of altercations with the 33-year-old man. They reportedly had an argument on Saturday, during which the 33-year-old punched Taylor.
Shortly afterwards, Taylor reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the man.
After being shot, the 33-year-old quickly got into another car and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his upper torso.
After the shooting, Taylor reportedly moved to the driver’s seat of the car he was inside and fled the area.
According to Delaware State Police, a 28-year-old woman was also injured during the altercation. The woman was the original driver of the car Taylor was inside.
She was struck by debris created when the round was fired while trying to intervene.
The car Taylor fled the scene in has been recovered, but police are still searching for the 28-year-old.
Warrants are currently on file charging Taylor with one count each of Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited and Reckless Endangering 1st Degree.
Taylor who is pictured in the above photo from 2017, is described as being 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.
