DelDot holds public input session ahead of Plantation Rd construction

LEWES, Del. -DelDot officials are trying to get input from residents about their proposed plan to improve road conditions along plantation road in Sussex County. Officials say right now the project is in it’s design phase. They tell 47 ABC that the purpose of the project is to ensure mobility for local residents and businesses in the area while making improvements to the roadway that would reduce congestion and improve safety. They add the improvements would also help accommodate the growth the area is expected to see in the future as well. But they tell us they can’t move forward without making sure everyone is on board first.

“We don’t want to put something in that people don’t want to agree to. We’ll look at all of the comments that are received and we’ll make any changes that are necessary based on any concerns that were raised during today’s workshop and we’ll finalize the plans, said Project Manager Ed Robles.

Officials add that if all goes well they hope to begin construction on the project by the spring of 2022.
