Delaware restaurant celebrates 22 years

WYOMING, Del. – One restaurant celebrated their twenty-two-year anniversary in a special way: by giving back to the community.

Hall’s Family Restaurant celebrated their anniversary by donating a $5,000 check to Meals on Wheels.

Ray Hall, the owner of the restaurant, says he decided to donate the money as a way to celebrate the restaurant’s anniversary and his own personal 50th year anniversary from retiring from the Air Force.

Hall also announced that because of health issues, he and his son plant to sell the restaurant. But, Hall made it clear they will not close until a suitable buyer is found.

Hall adds that meeting customers and watching them enjoy their food has been extremely rewarding for him.

“It’s everything, if I was able to, I wouldn’t even think of selling the place, I would stay here until they buried me,” Hall said.

Hall tells 47 ABC that when he bought the restaurant in 1997, he planned to give it to his son after five years.

Now, two decades later, Hall says he’s thankful for his time with the restaurant.
