UPDATE: Man wanted in connection to stabbing incident arrested


8/12 UPDATE: Dover Police have arrested 26-year-old Benny Fonseca, who was wanted for stabbing his roommate last week.

Fonseca was taken into custody in the area of North Governors Avenue and Mary Street on Friday. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $44,000 secured bond.


DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are actively search for a suspect who is wanted in connection to a stabbing incident that happened early Thursday morning.

At around 5 a.m., officers were called to an apartment in the 100 block of West Loockerman Street, where they found a 25-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. Further investigation revealed that the victim’s roommate, identified as 26-year-old Benny Fonseca, stabbed him and hit him several times while he was on the ground.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.

Fonseca, who police say fled the scene following the incident, is wanted on second degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony charges.
