Congressman Andy Harris speaks at Joint Chamber Luncheon

DORCHESTER CO., – On Tuesday, Republican Congressman Andy Harris attended a Joint Chamber Luncheon in Dorchester County to discuss the congressional session and the potential impact on our local businesses.

Many people were in attendance including Senator Addie Eckardt, Delegate Chris Adams and Delegate Johnny Mautz.

At the luncheon, Congressman Andy Harris was presented with a Spirit of Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his work to improve the local economy.

Later on, Congressman Harris took questions from the audience about things like offshore wind and healthcare. He says his goal was to hear feedback from locals so he can take their thoughts and concerns back with him to Washington D.C.

Congressman Harris said, “We have to hear feedback from exactly what small businesses are worried about now and again, we want to keep the economy going we don’t want it to stall so I want to get feedback. I mean is it a well skilled work force that we need now? What is it that we need to keep this economy going?”

Joining the Congressman on Tuesday were members of the Caroline Chamber, the Dorchester Chamber, the Talbot Chamber and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.
