Coastal Hospice’s Kicks 4 Kids

SALISBURY, Md. — This morning on Good Morning Delmarva, our very own Erica Murphy sat down once again with Ms. Amy Wigglesworth from Coastal Hospice and Palliative Care. Amy was here to talk about an upcoming event they are sponsoring , their second annual Kicks 4 Kids Event.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 10th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winterplace Park, 6737 Blue Ribbon Road, right here in Salisbury, Md. The event benefits the Coastal Kids Supportive Care Pediatric Program of Coastal Hospice.

Now don’t get this confused with a shoe drive because it isn’t, this event is a family fun day event with games, contests, food, prizes and fun! Amy, who is the event coordinator for Coastal Hospice says, “a couple of local artists donated their time and talents to decorate Vans.’ If you didn’t know Vans are a shoe brand company. Then, the public is allowed to vote on the most creative and each vote is a donation back to the pediatric care program for Coastal Hospice.

Amy says this year’s event will be bigger than the last. She says they are “expanding with more options for food, live music, more games, and a couple extra competitions.” Coastal Hospice has set their goal for the event at $10,000. Amy says Coastal Hospice is hoping for 100 to 250 people for the event but, they really want a great turnout of kids.

For more information on the event you can visit or you can visit their Facebook page at Also, to vote for your favorite shoes so it can count as a donation, go to this page and be sure to write your favorite shoes in the comments:
