A Look Back at a Hot July

If it seemed like it was hot almost every single day this July, you were right! Believe it or not, Salisbury recorded 21 days with highs in the 90s. The longest stretch of 90 degree weather was nine days straight, which was one of three heat waves this month. A heat wave is officially defined as three or more days with high temperatures 90 degrees or above.

The hottest temperature this month was 97°, which was hit twice, on July 17th and 21st. The coldest high temperature was 76° on July 23rd.

The average temperature this month was 80.1°, which is 3.3° above average. This July was the 8th hottest on record for Salisbury.

As we head into August, temperatures appear to be right around average. According to the Climate Prediction Center, August is expected to be slightly above average in terms of our temperatures. Enjoy the last month of summer!
