UMES senior elected to Annapolis City Council

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – A senior at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore recently made his school proud – by becoming the youngest person to become an elected member of the Annapolis City Council.

DaJuan Gay was a write-in candidate for the council. We’re told he is passionate about politics and that his work in Annapolis included bringing together more than 200 citizens of different backgrounds in order to demonstrate the need for community and equality.

He is currently a full time student at UMES, studying sociology and social work with a minor in public policy and political science.
