Taco seasoning recall issued due to salmonella concerns
WASHINGTON – Williams Foods LLC has issued a voluntary recall of taco seasoning sold at Walmart and HEB due to concerns of potential salmonella contamination.
The items subject to recall contain cumin spice involved in a recall initiated by the supplier, Mincing Spice Co., after a specific lot was found to be potentially contaminated with salmonella. We’re told the recall is a precautionary measure and that no complaints or reported cases of Salmonellosis have been received in connection to these products.
The following products are subject to recall:
- Great Value Mild Taco Seasoning Mix, 1 oz, Item Number: 564829444, Product UPC: 0 78742 24572 0, with “best by” dates of 7/8/21 and 7/9/21
- HEB Taco Seasoning Mix Reduced Sodium, 1.25 oz, Item Number: 050215, Product UPC: 0 41220 79609 0, with “best by” dates of 7/10/21, 7/11/21, and 7/15/21.
Those who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and either return them to the place of purchase or throw them away.
