Severe thunderstorms damage Georgetown school

GEORGETOWN, Del. — After severe thunderstorms rolled through parts of Delmarva last night, many parts of the peninsula are left with downed trees and branches, and even structural damage.

The Georgetown Fire Company responded to a call from the EOC for a lightning strike at the Georgetown Middle & High School.  As you can see, from the pictures provided by the Georgetown Fire Company, lightning struck the chimney of the school. The strike also caused debris of bricks to cause damaged to surrounding areas.
