Salisbury restaurant working to promote a social mission in the community
SALISBURY, Md. – One local restaurant is stepping outside of the world of food to promote a social mission in the community.
Taco Bliss, located on College Avenue, kicked off their awareness campaign called “Awareness is Bliss” on Monday. The purpose is to educate about rare diseases that impact millions of Americans every day.
The restaurant will post basic information about one rare disease to its Facebook and Instagram accounts everyday in an effort to encourage those who suffer from that disease to comment their experience.
We’re told the campaign came after the owner Kevin Kreutner was diagnosed with a disease called Pemphigus Vugaris, which motivated him to support other people fighting for their lives.
“1 in 10 Americans actually suffers from a rare disease and a lot of times people really don’t know about them or what somebody is going through and as somebody who struggled with one myself I know that if people could understand what’s going on that can create some burden of the people suffering from them,” says Kreutner.
Kreutner also says that those suffering from the disease posted that day can enjoy a free meal from Taco Bliss, as well as a hug.
