Robbery at Rehoboth Beach bank under investigation

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Police are still on the search for a woman who robbed a Rehoboth Beach M&T Bank Tuesday morning.

According to police the suspect is a little over 5 feet tall and 130 pounds and entered the M&T Bank on Camelot Drive at 9:58 AM.

We’re told she displayed a note demanding cash to a clerk who then gave her an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say the suspect ran away after that. No weapon was displayed and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Locals say they use this bank often and say they feel bad for the teller because you never know when something like this may happen.

“Yes, well, one never knows at what time you can get a letter of this kind,” said Adriana Zonjua, a worker in Rehoboth Beach.

“It is a bit weird and mysterious,” said Zonjua.

47ABC reached out to M&T Bank, but they refused to comment. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
