Rehoboth woman arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Rehoboth Beach Police arrested a woman on multiple charges Sunday afternoon for trespassing on private property.

Just before 4 p.m., officers responded to a commercial/residential location at 235 Rehoboth Avenue for a report of a subject laying down in the driveway. On arrival officers found a subject, identified as 58-year-old Brenda Gibbons, face down in the driveway. After making contact with her it was determined that she did not need medical attention and officers believed she was intoxicated.

While officers tried to find a responsible person to release Gibbons to, she reportedly became uncooperative and made accusatory statements to officers. As officers tried to arrest her, she pulled her hands away and pushed the officer.

Gibbons was charged with third degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,001 secured bail.
