Public hearing scheduled for proposed Ocean City room tax

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The fate of a proposed room tax in Ocean City that could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for the resort town is still up in the air. In order for Ocean City to increase it’s room tax rate from 4.5 % to 5 % it needs support from all seven commissioners. And all but one county commissioner, Josh Nordstrom, are on board. Because of this, officials say a public hearing is now set to take place on August 20th where residents in Worcerster County will be able to express their ideas or concerns regarding the proposal. Officials say a time and location has yet to be determined for the hearing.
