Princess Anne man convicted of second degree murder

SALISBURY, Md. – A Princess Anne man was convicted on several charges stemming from a June 2018 incident in which a Fruitland man was killed.

On June 28, 28-year-old Johnathon MeGee was convicted of second degree murder, manslaughter, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, firearm possession with a felony conviction, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, and affray.

The charges stem from an incident that took place on June 6, 2018, during which MeGee and other individuals got into a fight in the yard of a residence in the 600 block of Priscilla Street in Salisbury. During the fight, multiple people fired handguns, fatally hitting Shawn Johnson of Fruitland.

The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation to be completed before sentencing.
