Praise in the Park returns to Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – People from across Seaford made their way to Nutter Park for the 2nd Annual Praise in the Park.
The event hosted by the group Unified Seaford offered all sorts of delicious barbecue food and activities for kids.
A prayer tent and different agencies also provided resources for community members.
The Mayor of Seaford David Genshaw says the main purpose for the event is to bridge relationships within the community.
He says there is a need to create a positive atmosphere for a city that has faced some tough times.
Genshaw says support from the local church and city council helped make this event a reality.
“A town is all the people not individual groups, and I think Isaac does a great job at bridging those gaps for those that are homeless, for those that are struggling, for those who are successful to bring us all together to help one another in a loving situation,” said Genshaw.
Some residents in Seaford say they hope these sort of events will help create a stronger community in the future.
