Motorcycle crash turns fatal in Frankford

FRANKFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that has turned fatal in Frankford.

Police say the incident happened at around 11 p.m. Monday, on Roxana Road approaching the intersection of Bennett Road. A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Roxana Road when it struck a deer that was crossing the road, subsequently flipping.

The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as 52-year-old Michael Dunlap from Temple, PA. Police say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday.

This crash remains under investigation.
