Milton man arrested on drug, weapons charges

MILTON, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Milton man Monday night after they found drugs and a weapon during a traffic stop.

At around 10 p.m., a trooper stopped a vehicle that was traveling on Fisher Road above the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and on contact with the driver, 25-year-old Vincent Schlothauer, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from within the vehicle and the trooper saw what appeared to be burn marijuana in plain view.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a concealed semi-automatic handgun with its serial number obliterated, approximately 45.7 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Schlothauer was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a weapon with an obliterated serial number, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of marijuana, and speeding in excess of posted limits.

He was released on $50,201 unsecured bond.
