Melting pot of visitors take part in Delaware State Fair
HARRINGTON, Del. – Each year more than 200,000 people make their way to the Delaware State Fair and these visitors come from all over the region.
70 percent of the attendees come from Delaware and most of them visiting from Kent and Sussex Counties.
Some travel in from places like Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and even Ohio to join in on the festivities.
Organizers say many of these visitors will come to the fair because they enjoy learning about the Delaware agriculture industry as well as its traditions.
“It’s good family time,” said Gerald Blakeslee, a Milton resident.
“It’s good to be with your family and see all the attractions that they bring here and also the animals, the tractors, and my son loves it, we love it,” said Blakeslee.
The weather can influence the number of people who visit the fair, but those who came out in the hot weather this weekend say nothing can stop them from joining in on the fun.
