Kids take over the Delaware State Fair grounds
HARRINGTON, Del. – Tuesday marked Kids Day at the Delaware State Fair! Since admission for kids aged 12 and under was free on Tuesday, thousands made their way out to the fair, ready to explore.
Kids were able to learn all about animals and the environment on Tuesday. On top of that, kids got plenty of exercise as many of them walked several miles at the fair without even realizing it.
Each year, there usually is a health fair for kids to take part in but sadly, it didn’t happen this year due to weather.
Regardless, kids still took the fair grounds by storm on Tuesday, and Hertrich brought in 600 kids of their own who are all a part of the Delaware Boys and Girls club.
Courtney Hastings, a Marketing and Communications Specialist with Hertrich said, “This is an opportunity that some of these kids have never had. Some of these kids have never been to the fair before, so its an opportunity for them to learn about local agriculture and just experience what the Delaware State Fair is all about.”
We’re told Kids Day gives children the opportunity to start new traditions and keep coming back each year for more.
