Harrington Police arrest two following domestic dispute
HARRINGTON, Del. – A domestic dispute led to two arrests in Harrington last weekend.
Officers responded to the report at around 12:30 a.m., in the 200 block of Brooklyn Drive. On arrival it was learned that a father and daughter, identified as 60-year-old Wayne Hughes and 25-year-old Courtney Hughes, had gotten into an argument at the residence that evening. Courtney allegedly slashed Wayne’s tires and caused damage to his vehicle, before threatening to kill him with a knife. It is also alleged that Wayne grabbed a shotgun and displayed it at Courtney. Both parties also allegedly physically assaulted each other during the dispute.
Both were arrested and taken back to the Harrington Police Department. Courtney Hughes was charged with aggravated menacing, criminal mischief over $1000, offensive touching, and disorderly conduct. Wayne Hughes was charged with aggravated menacing, offensive touching, and disorderly conduct.
Both were released on personal recognizance.
