Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico Co. gets new growth
SALISBURY, Md. – Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County is celebrating after they recently got 81,000 dollars for a new full-time family service manager.
Those in Habitat for Humanity say this new addition of a family service manager is vital.
They say this position helps seniors with home repair programs and helps more lower income families find affordable housing.
The grant is part of 6.2 million dollars in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“We just hired a family services manager, which is fantastic because I don’t think the public realizes the complexity of the cases of the families that come in that are seeking home ownership opportunities as well as home repairs,” said the Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County Executive Director, Molly Hilligoss.
Hilligoss says despite new funding there is still a big need for more money for construction.
