Governor Hogan responds to campaign finance violation allegations
CRISFIELD, Md. – On Wednesday, 47ABC caught up with Governor Larry Hogan at the 43rd annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake in Crisfield.
Governor Hogan has been under fire recently for allegations that he received illegal campaign donations.
Just recently, the Maryland Democratic Party filed a new complaint with the State Board of Elections regarding suspicious contributions from LLC’s to Governor Hogan’s re-election campaign. That was the third allegation against Governor Hogan in just four weeks.
Governor Hogan believes he didn’t do anything wrong.
Governor Larry Hogan said, “I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it. I believe we fully complied with the laws. The State Board of Election has already said that the complaint is kind of frivolous because we don’t have requirements under the law to keep track of these things, it’s the individual donors that do.”
Governor Hogan says if there are in fact some book-keeping errors or some donors that made a mistake, his team will take action to right the wrong, but he still believes the allegations are false.
