Fire officials investigating early morning house fire in Talbot Co.

TILGHMAN, Md. – Maryland fire officials are investigating a house fire that resulted in nearly $300,000 in damages.

The Tilghman Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze, which was reported by a neighbor just after midnight, at 21472 Wharf Road in Tilghman. We’re told that 46 firefighters responded to the two alarm fire, which took approximately 40 minutes to control.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. Heavy fire damage has been estimated at $280,000. Officials say the fire began in the interior attic space, however the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
