DelDOT announces emergency repairs on Route 1 in Milford tonight
MILFORD, Del. – DelDOT has announced that there will be lane closures on Route 1 southbound in Milford tonight for emergency road repairs.
We’re told that the emergency repairs are to fix heat-related heaving of the road. A 10-foot section of the road will be removed, and a temporary patch will be installed until a permanent repair can be scheduled to happen at a later date.
This repair is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. tonight and continue until 9 a.m. Friday.
DelDOT officials say the lane closure will take place just south of the new Northeast Front Street interchange in Milford, in the area of mile marker 42. DelDOT plans to complete the repair as quickly as possible, but motorists should expect delays in the area starting this evening and into Friday morning.
