Del. officials hold ribbon cutting for new DNREC center

HARRINGTON, Del. – Governor John Carney also made his way to the Delaware state fair today to celebrate the newly renovated and air conditioned DNREC center.

Officials say new displays include a large touch tank to bring visitors up close to native aquatic life.

Through displays, hands-on activities and educational games, officials say fairgoers of all ages can also learn more about the science behind the work DNREC does to protect the environment and public health and to conserve our natural resources.

“It’s just going to be a real asset to our mission to protect Delawares environment. A mission to protect our natural heritage in our state and celebrate Delaware agriculture,” said Governor John Carney.
