Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center asking for volunteers

EASTON, Md. – A pillar in the Easton community is expanding to help more immigrants here on the Eastern Shore.

The Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center is set to expand into several buildings on Dover Street because right now their current office is running out of space.

The only catch is the nonprofit needs a little bit of help from the community they have already done so much for.

According to the Director of the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center Matthew Peters, they are looking for volunteers to do thing like painting, deep cleaning, moving furniture, gardening and plumbing.

“We’re a nonprofit and all the support really does help for us to get through the year with our operating costs, but the whole idea of this operation as well is so people can turn it into their own,” said Peters.

Peters said they are looking to move into their new buildings in August and say they are looking for at least a dozen volunteers.
