Cambridge continues revitalization efforts with newest improvement project

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – In an ongoing effort to revitalize the area, the city of Cambridge announced an upcoming project to improve one of their parking lots downtown. Officials are calling it the 400 block Race Street parking lot improvement project. They say it’s a unique project that will address a multitude of challenges including parking, storm water management, and streetscape improvements. Residents in the area tell 47 ABC they’re excited to see the changes and improvements this project is sure to bring.

“I think that it’s a fantastic idea. I think that this area could definitely use a makeover and I think it’s a wonderful idea for them to do this for the community. It’s time for Cambridge to really use that make over and just give it some freshness and people can come over and visit and have a good time,” said Jermaine Chapman.

This project also recently received a $100,000 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust that helps support green infrastructure projects that help to improve communities and provide jobs.
