Berlin set to celebrate July 4th a day early

BERLIN, Md. – The Town of Berlin will be celebrating July 4th a little early this year.

The town will be setting off fireworks above the Berlin Falls Park Wednesday night, July 3rd at 9 p.m. instead of July 4th.

The town has been celebrating the 4th a day early for several years now, because many of the people living in the town work in the hospitality industry. That means they often work on the 4th, and miss the fireworks.

Berlin Mayor Gee Williams said, “We don’t compete with Ocean City or any other community, we try to complement. This way, the folks here the night before as so many folks have to work the night after, still get to enjoy the local celebration with their friends and family.”

If you work on the 4th but want to catch some fireworks, head to America’s Coolest Small Town and enjoy the show on July 3rd.

The fireworks show will be taking place rain or shine.
