Two Dead After Harrington Motorcycle Accident
HARRINGTON, Del. – Two people are dead after a Jeep collided with a motorcycle just north of Harrington on Saturday.
The accident occurred on Hopkins Cemetery Road just after noon. Investigators say the driver of the Jeep Wrangler was attempting to turn onto a private driveway when he turned directly into the path of the motorcycle.
Both the driver of the motorcycle, Kenneth Dear, and his passenger, Karen Dear, were not wearing helmets. Both were transported to Bayhealth Hospital where both died.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Jeep were also taken to the hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and then released. Police say impairment does not seem to be a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
