Two arrested in connection to string of burglaries in Sussex Co.

SUSSEX CO., Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested two suspects in connection to a string of burglaries in the Seaford, Laurel, and Georgetown areas.

Police began investigating the string of residential burglaries and thefts from yards in May 2019, and were able to successfully identify two suspects as 29-year-old Glenn Merrill and 33-year-old Matthew Davis. It was learned that some of the stolen property in these incidents was taken to local pawn shops and scrap yards.

Davis was taken into custody on June 13th in reference to an active warrant and faces numerous theft and other related charges. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $35,950 secured bond.

Merrill was also taken into custody on June 13th, at his residence in the unit block of 25000 Palmetto Street. He was also charged with several theft and burglary charges and was later released on $4,500 unsecured bond.
