Showell Elementary School helps raise money for kids

BERLIN, Md. – Students at Showell Elementary School got to slime their principal today, and it was all for a good cause.

Construction for a new school building has forced their playgrounds to downsize.

That is why educators and parents are raising money for their ultimate fundraiser through activities like sliming.

The fundraiser will help them buy more things like games, chalk and equipment.

They hope these additional items will help engage students in different activities while they transition to a new school.

“Our playground is downsizing a bit, which became a big concern for the school, and so the parents rallied together to help out,” said the PTA President, Jenny Carven.

“The PTA decided that we should push our ultimate a little harder,” said Carven.

To help students find more activities, parents will also be painting fitness activity circuit stations, hopscotch and more.
