Shorebirds down the Crawdads, snap five-game skid
SALISBURY, Md. The Delmarva Shorebirds used a six-run second inning to help propel them to a 9-2 victory over the Hickory Crawdads on Friday night.
In the bottom of the second Delmarva recorded six consecutive hits to take a 6-0 lead on Hickory. Then in the bottom of the fourth, Delmarva scored three more runs capped off by a two run double by Will Robertson.
Hector Guance gave the Shorebirds a solid start going 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on just two hits while striking out five batters.
The Shorebirds had a strong day at the plate collecting 14 hits. Robertson led the way with three hits and two RBI’s. Four other Shorebirds had multi-hit games and seven different players collected RBI’s.
