Sen. Lockman Introduces 2 Education Reform Bills

DOVER, Del. – Education is the focus of one Senator in Delaware, and she’s introducing two bills to change it in the First State.

Senator Elizabeth Lockman introduced the bills aimed at improving equity and accessibility.

Senate Bill 148 focuses on Wilmington and northern New Castle County, two areas Senator Lockman says need the extra support, and making sure students there have the resources they need.

Senate Bill 150 aims to create a consistent kindergarten registration process, making it easier and more accessible for parents across the state.

“I think both bills are really focused on increasing equity in the public school system and what that means is making the system easier to navigate,” Senator Lockman said.

Both bills cleared the Senate Education Committee last week.

Senate Bill 150, relating to kindergarten registration, is set to be voted on on Tuesday.
