Salisbury Zoo Hosts Pollinator Week

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury zoo is celebrating Pollinator week!

The zoo says they hope the week will show people here on Delmarva what they can do to help protect pollinators.

That includes using different fertilizers and products within their own homes, as well as planting small gardens that can help pollinators in their work.

The zoo says this is all in an effort to teach people about the importance of bees, and other bugs, that are responsible for a large portion of the food we consume.

“Pollinators are kind of unsung heroes, and pollinator week is the time that we kind of try to promote to the general public that without our pollinators you don’t have food on your table,” Leonora Dillon, Education Curator at the Salisbury Zoo, said.

The main events for Pollinator Week will take place on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.

All events are free.
