Police: Fugitive arrested at campground with drugs, cash and weapons

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police say a man, wanted out of Pennsylvania, was arrested at a Delaware campground on Friday.

According to Delaware State Police, John Wolfe was a known fugitive that was possibly staying at the Big Oaks Trailer and Camping Park in Rehoboth Beach. Investigators say they saw the 43-year-old walking near a tent at the campground and took him into custody without incident.

Wolfe was wanted for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated assault and related charges out of the Middlesex Police Department in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Police found the following in Wolfe’s car and tent:

  • Approximately 8.9 grams of Methamphetamine
  • Approximately 73.5 grams of Marijuana Seeds
  • A twelve gauge pump action shotgun
  • A Crossbow
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Over $2,500 in suspected drug proceeds

Wolfe was taken back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Prohibited defendant of alleged felony
  • Possession with intent to deliver a control substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity
  • Possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited (2 counts)
  • Manufacture and sale of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts)

Wolfe was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $183,200.00 cash only bond.
