Millsboro Police to relaunch Citizens Police Academy

MILLSBORO, Del. – After a three year hiatus the Millsboro Police Department is finally re-launching their Citizens Police Academy.

The academy gives residents a first hand look at what it is like to be a police officer.

This will help police have the support they need from the community to make the town safer.

The Millsboro Police Chief Brian Calloway said the academy was paused because of changes to the police department.

Chief Calloway said it is crucial for residents and police to stay connected and build relationships.

“Communication is key in this business,” said Calloway.

“This is allowing our citizens to have a better understanding of how we operate, and if we needed the community’s help, they can understand what our needs are,” said Calloway.

Chief Calloway said they hope to start the Academy in September.
