Dover Police investigating burglary, assault incident

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a residential burglary that led to an assault early Monday morning.

According to police, the incident happened at a home in the 100 block of East Sheldrake Circle at around 12:30 a.m. At this time, the resident returned home to find an unknown male suspect in the stairwell of his home, and when confronted, the suspect reportedly punched and kicked the victim.

The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. The suspect fled on foot after assaulting the victim, and was described as a male over 20 years of age, average build, wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
